Customer use

SokoLink is a directory that helps people discover businesses in Kenya. Customers contact businesses directly and make their own decisions about services, prices, payments, delivery and appointments.

• Check the business’s location, current price, availability and terms before you commit.
• A published listing is not an endorsement or a guarantee of the business’s identity, licences, quality, safety, availability or results.
• SokoLink does not arrange customer purchases or resolve agreements between a customer and a business.
• Use the listing report link or contact SokoLink if information appears misleading or raises a safety concern.

Business listing rules

By submitting a listing, you confirm that you are the business owner or are authorised to submit it for the business. You agree that the business name, category, service description, area, price indication, contact number and image link you provide are accurate to the best of your knowledge.

• Only submit contact details and images that you have permission to share. The phone number on an approved listing will be visible to visitors so they can contact the business.
• Do not submit false, misleading, unlawful, abusive, discriminatory or infringing content.
• Listings are reviewed before publishing. SokoLink may ask for changes, decline a submission, edit formatting, or pause/remove a listing if it appears inaccurate, unsafe or inconsistent with these rules.
• Tell SokoLink when a published phone number or other listing detail changes, or when the business should be removed.
• Do not imply that SokoLink has certified, endorsed or guaranteed your business.

Submitting a listing does not guarantee approval, a particular position in search results, customer enquiries or sales.

Privacy notice

Information we receive

When a business submits a listing, SokoLink receives the business name, category, location, description, optional starting price and image URL, and the WhatsApp or phone number. We also store the listing status and submission/update dates so the administrator can review and manage it. Approved listing details are displayed publicly.

The site does not require customer accounts or ask customers to submit search details. Our hosting and security providers may process technical request information to deliver and protect the website.

How we use information

We use submitted information to review listings, publish approved listings, operate the directory, respond to requests, prevent abuse and manage the site. We do not sell listing contact information.

If online subscription payments are enabled in future, the payer’s phone number and payment references/status may be processed by SokoLink and its payment provider to request and reconcile the subscription. Online checkout is currently not available. SokoLink will not ask you to enter your M-Pesa PIN on this website; only approve a prompt on your own phone after checking its details.

Who can see it

Pending and rejected listing details are available to the site administrator for review. Once approved, the submitted listing details, including the business contact number and optional image link, are public. Website hosting/database providers support operation of the service. If payment processing is enabled, the payment provider receives the information needed to process the payment.

Storage, updates and requests

Pending and rejected submissions remain in the admin system until they are deleted. Published details remain in the directory until the business asks for a correction/removal or SokoLink removes them. Payment records, if any, may be retained as needed for reconciliation, security and applicable record-keeping duties.

You may ask to access, correct, object to use of, or request removal of personal information held by SokoLink. We may ask for enough information to confirm that you are authorised to make the request and may retain records where necessary. Contact us using the WhatsApp link below.

Security and changes

We use access controls for the admin area and take reasonable steps to protect submitted information. No website can promise absolute security. We may update this notice; the date at the top shows when it was last revised.

Business plans and payments

The prices and plan features shown on the directory describe proposed visibility plans. Online subscription checkout is not currently available. Do not send money based solely on the plan display. When checkout is enabled, the payment amount, payment provider, subscription period and any renewal or cancellation terms will be shown before payment.

Plan subscriptions apply to SokoLink listing visibility only. Payment for a business’s goods or services is arranged directly with that business.
